Furthermore, the Founders agreed that there was a great benefit in adopting
common standards in order to enable Members to
facilitate data exchange not only amongst them but also with their respective Customers and Agents.
In June 1995, the Association hired its first IT Engineers who continued the development of an existing DOS software.
It was essential also for the Founders that the Association would be the
legal owner of all the source codes of the applications developed. As a result, the Members jointly own the Software they use.
Since its incorporation, WQXS NETWORK has attracted new Members from all over Europe and Africa, from Ireland to Russia and from Norway to South Africa.
In 2001, the Association decided to completely re-write all its applications in order to benefit from the
new technology available (Internet, SQL, XML, FTP, etc ...). The
new suite of applications were completely re-designed and developed internally by Engineers employed by the Association.
The
Association is managed by a
Board of Directors appointed by the General Meeting of Members, which is meeting each year, allowing Members to exchange ideas.
